On the Run 2 With Love
To say that last night was incredible would be an understatement. I have been listening to Jay-Z’s poetry in music for decades. Beyonce; well lets just say I learnt how to dance from watching her. She has evolved as a woman, as a wife and as a mother. The highlights for me were many but I am thankful for Mr Incredible as he was there to capture it all.
They were the perfect balance with Hova stepping in perfectly and letting us catch our breath after all the dancing and Bey getting our heart rate up at exactly the right moment. It was exhilarating. I have not danced and sang and rapped like that in more over a decade. Bones are aching, my voice is kaput (temporarily unavailable lol), the set was magical the entire night was epic.
The evening was simply put ‘the very best of Jay and Bey on stage’. We witnessed so much emotion. It was raw, I cried at times (well especially when the family clips were rolling). It was relatable in a way that many public figures do not expose themselves. So deep that any couple that has been married long enough would appreciate the realness of it. Watching your older ‘brotha’ from another ‘mutha’ (he is less than 10 years younger than my momma so its definitey another Mother lol) and his queen express their love and adoration after everything they have been through was ahabi love.
This is NOT a sponsored post but my advice is to get those tickets and go let loose with them. I certainly would if I could, attend every concert date on this tour.
I fulfilled one my bucket list items in one night… Seeing Jay and Bey in concert (checked). I wish I would have gotten a chance to cook a fantastic Welsh inspired dinner with all that Wales has to offer but maybe someday.. if the stars align in their favour (since they are the ones who will be feasting lol). I’m putting that out there in the universe. There was a time when all I wanted to be was Beyonces backing dancer…last night i got to be her backing dancer, backing vocalist, Jigga’s backing singer and the only one (noted) in the section where i was who went absolutely bananas with the rapping. I relived my 18-25yr gap in three hours…now that is truly a blessing.
