I have been an avid and voracious reader of fashion and lifestyle magazines for as long as I can remember. My pocket money was spent mostly on Vogue and Cosmopolitan India Magazines in my early twenties. Issuu is an online platform with hundreds of digital publications easily accessible to all. I absolutely love it! Had it been around earlier i would probably have quit law school and swapped to fashion.

I lived and breathed Fashion TV admiring the creativity and self-expression of the designers, models and makeup artists. Decades of drooling over the pages and being slapped back by the prices, (ouch!), have armed me with an eye for a unique sense of style. I love gifting presents and not just on special occasions, (I am the queen of surprise presents, my family and friends have been benefiting for years). I have mastered the art of acquiring items that will last and not necessarily cost a fortune. I will help you navigate the puzzling world of online and high street shopping by sharing my go to places and telling you where the offers are. Yippee who wouldn’t want a personal shopping directory when the options are too many.

When I look back at pictures of my grandparents all bell-bottomed and suited up to the nines, ooh, I crave those days when people’s personalities were truly reflected in their choice of attire. My maternal grandmother lived in blackout sunglasses, I hardly remember what her eyes looked like. She would transform into someone else as soon as she popped them on, leaving me with memories that will be forever etched in my mind.

My paternal grandfather suffered a stroke towards the end of his life and we would collect my grandmother and take her to the hospital visits. She donned her best attire, moisturised powdered and looked her Sunday best every day during that period. It took her at least an hour to pick an outfit and get primed, she was 86! I asked her why she went to so much effort, with a beaming smile, she said, “I want to walk into that room and when babu (grandpa) sees me; he will get better so that he can come home to me”. The half-smile on my grandfathers’ face and the glimmer in his eyes when he saw her was the same, every single time. He truly beheld her beauty and fell in love every time he saw her.
