Yummy

Meal times were agonising for my mum and anyone who supervised me. Meals would take me ages to finish. I loved fruit and bread, the rest just made me cry and try every trick to get out of eating. Boarding school was worse, consuming what I only described as ‘Food which tastes like a dishcloth’.

New Delhi, India, had the most colourful markets solely dedicated to fresh produce, freshly milled and ground spices. The weekly Delhi Organic Farmer’s Market and Khaoli Baoli stock everything one needs to awaken one’s gastronomic curiosity. Living here, inspired me to start cooking at 19.

To date, I prefer food shopping to any other kind of shopping. At 24, I met the love of my life and started paying more attention to cooking and experimenting. He was and still is my muse. I will only post dishes which elicit a ‘More Please’ response from my loved ones. The way to everyone’s hearts is truly through their stomachs!

‘If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.’
