Konjac Sponge is Facetastic

Used traditionally in Japan and other cultures to wash babies, Natural Konjac fibre is so soft and gentle. Are you cleansing properly? I have a husband who naturally will not fuss over his face unless he has to.  As I raise two young girls, I want to teach them the importance of good cleansing. Establishing a routine from a young age and adjusting it as they grow older is something we bond over and it will save them trying and testing; that is until I find them a better alternative.

I finally found a product we can all use by accident; whilst walking through town. Those who shop with me know my neck has a way of catching things and leading me in the opposite direction when I’m out on the streets to wherever it leads me. I accept no responsibility whatsoever for the places my necks and eyes lead me to. (I should have been a giraffe…)

On one such occasion, I spotted this jelly looking sponge titled Konjac, I’ll be honest its the name that got my interest. I quickly looked it up and I was SOLD! Got home showed it to the girls and as usual, they want everything I have so they all asked for one. Thankfully this mama had purchased three, (just in case), one for the initial testing, one for confirming that the first love buzz was not a fluke, (asking the girls to use it and give me feedback), and the other for gifting, (daddy because we never leave him out of our adventures).

The sponges are excellent for sensitive skin as well so STOP spending tonnes of money on gadgets. Face flannels and washcloths need to be clean and dry every time you use one as their damp nature is a breeding ground for bacteria. (just a side note).

There are a few on the market but I found a bulk deal which works perfectly for my family. When they degrade they are popped in the recycling. We also get to swap colours with every new pack, (I get new ones every 3 months). Daddy always gets the green or black one, the girls and I get what’s left after a few rounds of ‘eenie meeniee’.

This may look like vanity but I am a firm believer of what I like to call ‘Props of life,’ these are everyday items, which may seem insignificant at first but play a big role in self-acceptance and self-love. We are inundated with images of what perfection looks like and this ideal, (mostly photoshopped), view of things causes us to either aspire to be something we aren’t, or loathe the bodies we live in.

I tell my family your face is the clearest outward representation of who you are. Without that face, you and outsiders would not be able to identify you. When we wake up, as we brush our teeth and look after ourselves I am teaching them to love every aspect of their face.

The sponges have not in themselves made us more beautiful. I just add their use in my life lessons to my family. Whether you use them to just cleanse or take it further, I honestly say we love ours and I can only wish that you all start to look after your face with a new perspective.  Click here to get yours.

  • Look into a mirror and learn to love what you see by using words of affirmation

    1. Tell yourself that you have an inner beauty which radiates from within and although it does not matter what you look like to the world there is only one you. That makes you unique so embrace that

    2. Look at your face and you will naturally start looking after the rest of your body as well.

When I look into the mirror,
I see my mother’s eyes
I see my father’s dimples
I see my grandmother’s cheeks
I see that I am a part of many people who love me
I also see our son who left us suddenly…
But I only need to look at my babies, and there he is
I am more than what I see
Love in the scars..the wrinkles..the laugh lines
I am Facetastic!

Ahabi Love
